Grant Rooney

I graduated with a degree in Photography, Film and Television from the prestigious London College of Printing (LCP) in the mid eighties, and have been working as a professional photographer ever since. I am an all round photographer with a special interest in Travel, People, Landscapes and Architecture, and so far, my work has taken me to over 50 countries worldwide, and has been featured in many books, newspapers and magazines.

I am based in Lewes, Sussex. The town is about an hour from London and close to both Gatwick and Heathrow.

My commissioned work takes me away from the UK on location for around four months of the year. The rest of the year is spent working on assignments in the UK, and on various personal projects, most recently the landscapes of Britain and Iceland, and also a long term project on the world's oldest horse race 'The Palio' which is held twice a year in the Italian City of Siena.

These days I’m mostly digital and I work with high resolution Canon digital cameras, however, some clients still prefer traditional film in which case I am able to shoot on anything from 35mm to 5x4. The choice between digital or film is entirely dependent upon the wishes of the client.
